john lewis living room ideas

hi, this is the john lewis hinton home officechair. so this is the box that it comes in. it's not that heavy, it's 15.2kg, it's justabout carryable, and it's quite a small package. so let's see what's in the box. there's a tray of bits. you get the chair base... it's a bit difficult doing this one-handedbut there you go. don't know what this is, some kind of blackfluff stuck in there, don't know what that is.

maybe i can tuck it in later. is it stuffing? i don't know. oh it's the chair back. with the tip-down arms. and then, oop, crunch, the base. not doing a good job with the one hand, there'sa wasp! agh! and finally for the hinton john lewis homeoffice chair in red... is the... packing cardboard...

it's the base. there we go. put that there. and the control bits for the chair. some nice instructions there. don't know if you can see that, it's a bitdark in here because it's so bright outside, ah there you go. up lift down, free lock. there you go so i'm going to try and put thistogether and let you know how that went.

these are the instructions i'll show you them,so you can see what's ahead of you. and also, if you lose yours. these are the instructions for the hintonhome office chair. ah, can't wait to do all of this bolting. sit on the chair to use the weight of thebody to tighten the joint on the column and the seat. please note this is not a permanent fit dueto the rise and fall and 360 degree turning action. i didn't think i'd turn this into a how-toput it together, but i'll just show you anyway.

put the wheels on first, they just clip inlike that. so now they're all in put part "4" in to there. and then "7" which is this... bit rough...put that onto there. so next we put this bit onto the chair base, and it says front there, it curves up if that sticker's come off. and then you put it on here, with these smallbolts. four of these. just put them in. and handily it says front on it as well.

i think this is the tilt control. feels really stiff. but we'll test that in a minute. so the bolts are in now, and i've put it onthe box just to help get the back on, and for that you'll need the longer bolts whichare like this, they go in there. one, two, three, four. and it will be difficult for me to put theseon while i'm holding the camera, so let's just do a jump cut. so this is really difficult, for a coupleof reasons.

the screws wouldn't go in, so i've taken theback off and i'm just trying to screw them in. just to make sure that they go. there's some kind of obstruction here, buti think i've cleared... so my advice to you is to put a bit of wd-40 on the bolts, juston the end or a bit of oil, and make sure that they go in, and that will clear any obstructionsin the screw thread, otherwise, oh, you can't get the back on! so just do them without the back first justget a bit of oil in there and make sure that they do actually screw down.

and look, on this one they've had a few goesto get the hole, so the fabric hole didn't match up with the screw hole as well, thanksjohn lewis! but now i've cleared it and the bolts go in,so let's try again with getting the back on. so that was really worth doing, i really recommendthat before you put this on you put the screws in with a little bit of oil or wd40 and justmake sure the bolts go in because of the dirty screw threads, and then put the back on likethat. and then, lift it up, i put the box lengthwiseto help me do that. and then do this with one hand, it's goingto go onto there. and it's just pressed on like that.

i think i've got to sit on it to make it work, but that... is the chair. and these fold down. or up. i don't know what to do about that black fluffthing. under there, so i don't think i can see it. oh it's just there. i'll just tuck it in. apart from that it all looks great! i've just bought it and i've just unboxedit, and i'll show you how all of that went.

and what it looked like when it arrived inthis box. that's what the chair looks from behind. i've lifted it to its highest level and there'sa bit of a gap between this collar and the base, it doesn't seem to come down oh yeahyou can pull it down. it just about fits so that's good, but yeah,i like it. i'll probably write in the description ifi have any problems with the tension thing, for rocking the chair. and this is what it looks like against a reallystandard ikea desk that i've painted, it doesn't come like that.

it fits really nicely, i just sat at it, andoh man the support on the back is great. there's some complaints in the reviews aboutthis hitting your back, but the way i sit, with the small of my back as far back here, that shouldn't be a problem. it is hard, but it didn't seem to dig intome. and it's a shame that the arms aren't adjustable, because obviously they'd clear the desk, and also support my arms. but they can fold up out of the way like thisand obviously tuck in much more nicely. so there you have it. that's the hinton john lewis home office chairassembly and unboxing.

and out of the box i'm really happy with it. i hope this video has helped. if it has, why not click the subscribe buttonin the bottom right hand corner, or i think my face is on the screen and feel free tocheck out some of my videos. but subscribing really helps me make moreof these. but thanks for watching. hope it's been helpful and i'll try to answerany questions in the comments.
