then we nailed them for a permanent fit. next we gave the desk a coat of primer. we cut and installed a plywood top. then painted the entire desk. we used oak hardwood flooring for the top. using stair nose, we installed the corners first. then we tapped the tongue and groove flooring board into place and stapled them down permanently. next we trimmed the two corners to finish the desktop. using the original drawer knobs gives the desk an antique look.
