a festive christmas table setting doesn’thave to be overly done or expensive. in fact, often times we get the best looks when usingsimple items that we already have. this week i'm going to show you how to get a beautifullydressed tablescape with only a few simple touches. the way i’m about to show you isn’t necessarilyfor a dinner party, but for staging or decorating your dining table for the entire christmasseason. i only get to use my china and some of myglassware a few times a year, so it’s nice to be able to pull them out and put them ondisplay every once in a while. the first thing to do is decide on a theme.for me, i like a more traditional look so

i’m sticking with red & gold colours. so we want to start with our table linens.this year i’ve decided to use a neutral table runner instead of a table cloth. next it’s the centrepiece. i’m going tostart with the greenery. i’m using a live wreath which will give off the fresh scentof the season. next is the main focal point of the centrepiece.there are all kinds of things you can use from hurricane lamps, ornamental filled glassvases or a fresh bouquet of flowers. i’ve decided to use this large black lantern, whichi think adds to the traditional theme. i’m using a battery operated led candleinstead of a real candle…for safety reasons

of course. and now for the placemats, which i'm goingto lay sideways so that i can tuck under the table runner. now i’m going to arrange my place settings.i’m starting with red chargers, followed by a simple white dinner plate, then a saladplate on top. you’ll notice these plates have silver edging.although i’m going with gold and red colours, the silver edging will still tie in nicely.remember, use what you have. once the place settings are placed, i cannow embellish the centrepiece. here i’m going to add these artificial swags on eitherside of the wreath. and then add a few decorations

to dress it up. use whatever you have, justplay around with it until you find the look you’re happy with. now for the wine glasses. and then the napkins. i’m using these goldnapkins with these simple wicker napkin holders that i use year round. to display the napkin, find the centre ofthe napkin, and pull through the napkin ring. insert a stem of artificial berries and asprig of greenery, can be fake or real, right into the napkin ring. then just lay atop thesalad plate. lastly, add your place card holders. althoughwe’re not using them now, we can still enjoy

how nice they look. i love seeing a nicely displayed table, evenif it’s not for a dinner party. it just adds instant flair and sparkle, only addingto the joy of the season. so have fun decorating your table and don’tforget to subscribe if you liked this video. thanks for watching and we’ll see you nextweek.
